Dr. Arup Basu

Dr. Arup Basu is, currently, the Managing Director at Greaves Cotton Limited. He looks after the development and execution of long-term strategies for Greaves Cotton Limited, while simultaneously overseeing the implementation of the Corporate Purpose and Vision of GCL across Engines and Retail Businesses.
Arup brings more than 30 years of experience in executive leadership roles from manufacturing intensive businesses, spanning diverse industries of Automotive, Operations, Management Consulting, Chemicals as well as Packaging. In his professional career, Arup has been associated in various leadership capacities with companies like Huhtamaki PPL, Tata Chemicals, and Tata Motors. He has completed his Engineering from Imperial College, London, followed by a Ph.D. in Technology (Composite Materials) from the University of Manchester (UK).
